ENGLISH · SESSION 2026–27
CBSE Class 10 Maths
Build understanding, revise the essentials and practise with feedback. Explore all 14 NCERT chapters through study guides, original solved examples, mind maps and timed MCQ practice.
For Mathematics Basic (241) and Standard (041). The subject content is shared; the official assessment demand differs. These short MCQ tests support revision and do not reproduce an 80-mark board paper.
How to study
- Read the chapter overview and recall the prerequisite ideas.
- Study the concepts, then solve the examples without looking at the solutions.
- Complete the NCERT exercises and the NSL practice questions on paper.
- Revise using the mind map, take a timed test and review every explanation.

Chapter study guides
CHAPTER 1 · STUDY GUIDE
Real Numbers
Discover how prime factors describe whole numbers and help solve grouping and repetition problems. Then use a contradiction argument to explain why some square roots cannot be fractions.
CHAPTER 2 · STUDY GUIDE
Polynomials
Connect algebraic zeros with x-axis intersections, then use coefficient relationships to check roots and construct quadratic polynomials.
CHAPTER 3 · STUDY GUIDE
Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables
Represent two conditions using two equations. Decide whether both conditions have one common solution, infinitely many or none, and solve practical problems.
CHAPTER 4 · STUDY GUIDE
Quadratic Equations
Solve equations whose highest power of the unknown is two, interpret their roots and use a discriminant to decide which real solutions are possible.
CHAPTER 5 · STUDY GUIDE
Arithmetic Progressions
Recognise a sequence with a constant change, locate a distant term without listing every term, and add many terms efficiently.
CHAPTER 6 · STUDY GUIDE
Triangles
Use proportional sides and equal angles to recognise similar triangles. Apply a parallel-line theorem and justify your geometric reasoning.
CHAPTER 7 · STUDY GUIDE
Coordinate Geometry
Turn geometric distances and internal ratios into numerical calculations on a coordinate plane. Use results to verify a geometric description.
CHAPTER 8 · STUDY GUIDE
Introduction to Trigonometry
Relate an acute angle to side ratios in a right triangle, evaluate standard angles and simplify expressions using identities.
CHAPTER 9 · STUDY GUIDE
Some Applications of Trigonometry
Draw a useful right-triangle model to find an inaccessible height or distance from measured angles.
CHAPTER 10 · STUDY GUIDE
Circles
Understand tangency and use the two tangent theorems to find unknown lengths and angles.
CHAPTER 11 · STUDY GUIDE
Areas Related to Circles
Calculate portions of circular regions and distinguish the curved boundary from a straight chord or radius.
CHAPTER 12 · STUDY GUIDE
Surface Areas and Volumes
Model a solid as familiar pieces. Add or subtract volumes, but count only exposed surfaces when calculating an exterior area.
CHAPTER 13 · STUDY GUIDE
Statistics
Summarise a grouped frequency table using its mean, median and mode, and interpret what each measure tells you.
CHAPTER 14 · STUDY GUIDE
Probability
Measure the chance of an event in a finite equally likely sample space and check answers using complementary events.
Revision and mock practice
Start with a 6-question chapter check, then try the three mixed revision sets. Each mixed set has 28 questions, covering every chapter. Mixed sets reuse questions from the chapter bank; review is part of the learning process.

Before the examination
- Practise writing full proofs, working steps and clear diagrams in addition to MCQs.
- Use the official Basic or Standard sample paper that matches your subject code.
- Keep an error log: record the concept, the incorrect step and the correction.
- Revisit weak chapters after a break and retry the relevant test.
NSL study guides and questions are independently written learning resources. Videos and downloadable notes can be added as they become ready.
